Your Body is Talking-Are you Listening?

Hello from the Gold Coast of Australia!

As I wait out Cyclone Alfred here hitting the Gold Coast ( yep..never a dull) It got me thinking about when do we ever stop and take time to listen to our bodies. They do have a lot to say to us ( like it or not) if we just listen!

For example, have you ever felt exhausted for no clear reason? Or maybe you’re wide awake at 2 a.m. even though you’re completely drained? Your body is constantly sending signals—through energy levels, cravings, digestion, and even your mood. But in the rush of daily life, it’s easy to miss the message. Think about that...how many messages have we actually been missing?

Understanding Your Body’s Signals

Your body is incredibly wise. It tells you when it needs rest, movement, food or even a mindset shift. The question is: are you paying attention?

That mid-afternoon slump? Could be blood sugar imbalance, dehydration, or even lack of movement.

  • Craving sugar or salt? Your body may need protein, minerals, or simply more balanced meals.

  • Feeling bloated or sluggish? It might be how (or what) you’re eating, stress levels, or gut health.

The Mind-Body Connection

Stress, sleep, movement, and nutrition all work together. When one is off, it affects everything else. Small changes—like better sleep habits, mindful eating, or daily movement—can make a world of difference.

Simple Ways to Tune In

  • Pause & Check In. How do you feel after meals? Energized or sluggish? Satisfied or craving more?

  • Prioritize Rest. Your body heals, recharges, and resets while you sleep—don’t skimp on it.

  • Move Daily. It’s not about intensity; it’s about consistency. A short walk, stretching, or dancing counts.

  • Eat with Awareness. Slow down, chew your food, and notice how it makes you feel.

Your body is always communicating. The more you listen, the easier it becomes to give it what it truly needs.

What’s one signal your body has been sending you lately? Let’s talk about it.
